The holiday season is here! We are sharing some of our tips and reminders to help reduce any stress and ensure that your travel experience is safe and seamless this year.


Travel Preparation
As it may have a while since you travelled, check your passport or Government-issued ID to make sure it has not expired. Visit our website for more information on preparing for your travel.


Check Your Confirmation
Whether you book your flight from our website, through our call centre, or through a travel agent, you should always check your confirmation to ensure your personal and contact information and flight details are accurate. If you encounter an error, contact your travel agent or a Pacific Coastal Airlines Customer Service Agent at 1-800-663-2872 immediately.


Vaccine Requirements for Travellers

As per the Government of Canada air passengers aged 12 years, plus 4 months, and older will need to be fully vaccinated in order to board domestic flights in Canada. Customers travelling on all Pacific Coastal Airlines scheduled or charter flights will be required to present one of the following documents during check-in:

  • COVID-19 Vaccine Passport
  • Official exemption letter (medical, religious, or remote community)

Mandatory Mask Policy

The Government of Canada is asking that all travellers, over the age of two, have a removable non-medical mask or face covering large enough to cover their mouth and nose during their travel through Canadian airports and in-flight. Travellers must confirm that they have in their possession the mandatory non-medical mask or face covering as part of the registration or check-in process otherwise they will not be allowed to continue on their journey.

Arrive Early
We always recommend that you arrive at the airport at least 60 minutes ahead of your scheduled flight time. Check-in and checked baggage acceptance closes 40 minutes prior to scheduled departure time. Failure to be checked-in prior to closing may result in the cancellation of your entire reservation. As per Transport Canada, Identity Screening Regulations require all passengers who appear 18 years of age or older to present ID at check-in and when boarding.


Online Check-In
Quick and convenient, our self-serve, online check-in service provides you with the option to check-in for your flight from any computer between 24 hours and up to 1 hour ahead of scheduled flight time. You can find our online check-in on our homepage next to ‘Book’ and ‘Manage’ or click here.

Online check-in will also allow customers to pre-pay for any checked baggage or additional items online to save you even more time when dropping off their checked baggage. Upon completion of the online check-in, you can either print a boarding pass from your home or have an electronic boarding pass emailed to your mobile device to display at the time of boarding.


Seat Selection

Looking for a seat in the front, back, aisle, or window? Good news – you have choices and can select your seat in advance.

You can select an available seat when booking a new flight on our website. If you wish to add a seat or change a seat for an existing reservation you can do this online through the Manage My Booking or by contacting our Call Centre at 1-800-663-2872 with your Reservation Number, and we will be happy to help you out.


Choose the Right Fare
Pacific Coastal offers a range of fare products with unique features and benefits designed to meet your specific travel needs. Bravo, our most affordable fare, has more restrictions including change and cancellation fees. Classic is our mid-range fare class and our premium fare product Encore offers more free checked baggage and no cancellation or change fees.

Checked Baggage
If you are travelling with Christmas gifts, this often means heavier bags and more checked items. The features and benefits of our unique fare classes allow you the flexibility to choose a fare that suits your needs, especially if you are planning to travel with checked bags.

A checked bag is one item, weighing up to a maximum of 50 pounds (23 kilograms) with maximum linear dimension of 62 inches (158 cm). Linear dimension is calculated by adding together the bags outside height, width and length. Christmas Cargo
We offer a variety of cargo products to suit your holiday needs. Please keep in mind to leave gifts unwrapped in advance as they may need to be searched for security reasons.

Please note that we are experiencing high volumes of consignments and in order to support the supply change efforts, we have had to move our operational hours to provide the coverage to support the operations at peak times. Our cargo office will be closed on Saturdays between December 11, 2021, to January 8, 2022, inclusive. We apologize for any inconvenience that this causes. We continue to accept cargo for shipment and pick-up Sunday through Friday.


Seasonal Pet & Live Animal Embargo
Due to higher seasonal passenger traffic which impacts weight and load availability, Pacific Coastal checked pet and live animal embargo is in effect from December 15, 2020 until January 6, 2020 inclusive. For more information, please visit our website online.


Wine, beer, and other spirits are common Christmas gifts. If you are traveling with these items you need to ensure that they are adequately packed and stored in you checked baggage. Don’t forget to check that these are not accidentally left in your carry-on bag as you will end up leaving that expensive bottle of Champagne behind at security!
