5 Tips for Summer Travel

Each summer we experience an increase in the number of passengers flying with us to exciting destinations in British Columba. As we dive deeper into the summer season, we’d like to share some helpful tips for this busy time of the year.

1. Review your itinerary and check your documents – always view your itinerary details such as your flight times and departure dates and ensure your travel documents are valid.

2. Arrive early – you should check-in 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time with appropriate government issued identification.

It’s important to know that check-in and baggage drop closes 40 minutes prior to scheduled departure time. Failure to be checked-in prior to closing will result in the cancellation of your entire reservation.

3. Online check-in – Have access to a computer or mobile device? Online check-in is available between 24 hours and 1 hour prior to scheduled departure time. During online check-in you can prepay for checked baggage and obtain an electronic boarding pass. Online check-in can be found on our website homepage located at the top of the booking box. Please note that at this time our online check-in experience has not been optimized for mobile devices. We are currently working to develop an improved mobile interface for customers.

4. Know the checked baggage rules – We recommend you drop off your checked baggage 60 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time with one of our agents at our check-in counters.

We make every effort to ensure your luggage travels with you. However, there are times where we cannot accommodate all checked baggage due to weight and balance restrictions. Please keep this in mind when packing for your trip and always keep important items like prescription medicine and car keys in your carry-on luggage.

5. Know the carry-on rules – you are allowed two pieces of carry-on baggage: 1 standard article (such as a carry-on bag/roller) and 1 personal item (such as a larger purse, laptop bag, and diaper bag) up to 10 kilograms (22 pounds) each.
