Our Sales and Marketing team has been toiling away on this project for some time now and it is exciting to see it finally come to life. From the outset we were determined to create a blog that would capture the pristine nature of British Columbia and embrace the indomitable spirit of the people and communities that define our unique part of the planet.

From the red clay and sandy loam of the islands and the many inlets and fiords along the west coast, to the rugged flat lands of northern BC and from the snow-capped peaks of the Rocky Mountains in the east and the dry desert expanse to the south, British Columbia is world-renown for its unparalleled beauty and the wide variety of experiences that it readily offers to locals and visitors alike. We are a place steeped in Aboriginal history. The First Nations of BC have rich and varied cultures and traditions and our province has more diversity of Aboriginal culture than any other province in Canada.

It is within this context that Pacific Coastal Airlines was born, founded by second generation truck logger Daryl Smith in the small coastal town of Bella Coola nearly fifty years ago. Today we’re the sixth-largest airline of all airlines, based on outbound seats, operating, at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and third-largest in takeoffs and landings. Despite this incredible success we have not lost touch with our roots.  We are proud to be a BC owned and operated airline.

Through this blog we intend on sharing the stories of the incredible people and communities we serve and in doing so we hope it will inspire you to explore all that British Columbia has to offer. So go ahead and indulge your passion-we’re ready to help you get there.
