This year, our 32nd Annual Memorial Charity Golf Tournament looked a little different, but the goal remained the same! With the launch of our first ever Charity Online Auction, we stayed true to our commitment of supporting local charities and communities throughout the beautiful province of British Columbia. Although we came together online rather than on the green, the dedication and passion for giving back made this auction a remarkable success!
Presented by the Burnaby Firefighters Charitable Society and sponsored by National Bank of Canada, our auction was supported by 43 generous donors. The response was tremendous, and we are proud to share that we surpassed our $60,000 goal by raising an additional $31,000, for a total of $91,000!
As per tradition, Pacific Coastal Airlines will be contributing to The Source Club Society, as well as four scholarships in partnership with the British Columbia Aviation Council (BCAC) for Indigenous youth and students pursuing careers in aviation and aerospace. This year, we are also proud to participate in Hope Air’s Haul for Hope initiative. Not only will a portion of our auction proceeds go toward this cause, but our team will also be pulling an aircraft 100 metres down the Vancouver International Airport tarmac to raise additional funds for Canadians in need of medical travel. To extend our community involvement even further, our employees will be nominating a charity of their choice to receive the remaining funds raised from our auction!
To this day, we have raised an incredible $1,101,000 for our communities. Since first vowing our commitment to giving back in 1992, our goal and our hearts have never wavered. For over thirty years, the funds raised through our charitable initiatives have made a meaningful difference in the lives of community members who need it most.
