This family run airline was founded by CEO and Director Daryl Smith over 30 years ago. Daryl's roots are in the logging business, but he gained his reputation through 42 years of aviation experience as a pilot and owner of several regional carriers. With various degrees from the University of British Columbia and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University the Smith family oversees all operations in the Northern and Southern BC Regions alongside a staff who have previous experience with Air Canada, AirBC, Trans Provincial Airlines, Canadian Airlines, and more.
Pacific Coastal Airlines is a well-established name on the Canadian West Coast employing over 275 people including pilots, flight attendants, engineers, dispatchers, freight, customer service/reservation agents and an administration team. Pacific Coastal operates a total of 13 bases and has a fleet of 21 aircraft. The DeHavilland Beaver (float) is stationed at Port Hardy airport. There are a variety of wheel aircraft based at Vancouver South Terminal airport, predominantly the Saab 340A, the Shorts S360 & the Beechcraft 1900C, that can transport up to 33 passengers. For over forty years we have been serving the coastal & interior regions of British Columbia.
Pacific Coastal's headquarters are located at the Vancouver International Airport South Terminal. The South Terminal is very efficient, designed to be a "smart terminal" for busy travelers, it features numerous benefits: reduced congestion, short check-in lineups, short walks to gates and parking. The South Terminal also features amenities such as a restaurant, gift shop, car rental services, and taxi service. Transfers to and from the Main Terminal are provided by Pacific Coastal's own complementary walk-on shuttle service . Shuttle service is available on a routine schedule.
