Kelowna BC- Local dignitaries and airline representatives attended a ribbon cutting ceremony this afternoon at the Kelowna International Airport in recognition of Pacific Coastal Airlines’ inaugural flight to Trail.

The new service, which was officially announced on October 28, 2014, operates six days a week every day except Saturday. The forty-minute flight leaves Kelowna International Airport (YLW) at 1:00 P.M. and arrives in Trail at 1:40 P.M. It leaves the Trail Regional Airport at 2:15 P.M., arriving back in Kelowna at 2:55 P.M. One-way fares from Kelowna to Trail start as low as $125.06, all in.

Residents of the East Kootenay and Okanagan regions have been calling for a scheduled flight between the communities for a number of years.

“This creates a quick and easy transportation alternative to the current four and half hour drive between the two cities”, says Pacific Coastal V.P. of Commercial Services Spencer Smith.
