Our founder, Daryl Smith, used to work in the logging industry, and one day decided to buy a float-plane as transportation from job site to job site. Some friends chipped in for fuel to tag along, and thus begun the adventure that led to Pacific Coastal Airlines.

The Smith family and Pacific Coastal Airlines were raised in BC, and as a regional airline we have served many BC interests. When the subject of plane-tail artwork came up we found it difficult to sum up all that is BC in a single image. We wanted our tails to be a tale of BC, but when the artist asked us to choose one of the several icons offered,  we just smiled at him and said "We'll take 'em".
